Haunted Hotel Energy & a Spirit’s Message
My Spiritual Experience on Jekyll Island (Dream Visitation Story)
Staying in a hotel room is always… an experience when you’re sensitive to the energy around you. And it’s not just spirits—it’s the emotional remnants left behind by every person who’s stayed there before you. Hotels are basically energetic time capsules with questionable boundaries.
Which is exactly why I started making my clearing candles. Hotels tend to frown upon full-on smudging rituals—apparently setting off the fire alarm isn’t part of their guest experience package. So my candles became my solution: easy to pack, low drama, and designed for energy clearing and peaceful passage… without getting you kicked out before checkout.
Anyway… this particular adventure in mediumship takes place on Jekyll Island, Georgia.
If you’re not familiar, this is where some of the wealthiest men in history gathered and quietly laid the groundwork for the Federal Reserve… while, coincidentally (or not), several wealthy opponents of that idea ended up on the Titanic. Just a little conspiracy theory for you to ponder.
Meanwhile,
My husband and I were there for a wedding for one of his former coworkers now a friend. And since we were clearly going to be “old married couple, we felt an unexpected amount of pressure to write something meaningful in the card.
Strike one: neither him nor I have perfect penmanship.
Strike two: I somehow started writing and ended up directly in the crease of the card.
At this point, we were under performing but we found it slightly humorous. So we decided to abandon the mission and come back to it in the morning with fresh minds and hopefully improved coordination.
We packed up and hit the road… with a very intentional stop at Buc-ee’s in Daytona first. Because priorities.
By the time we reached Jekyll Island, it was dark. And if you’ve ever made that drive at night, you know—it’s a little eerie. Long, quiet road, swamp and water on both sides, no real sense of where you are. The kind of setting that makes you question your life choices just a little.
We made it through the gate, paid the toll, and since it was December, the road lit up with Christmas displays. It shifted from “possible crime scene” to “unexpected magic” pretty quickly.
We checked into the hotel, dropped our bags, freshened up, and headed out to meet friends at a local bar. Naturally, we brought up our wedding card crisis. Naturally, no one had anything helpful to offer.
After a few drinks, a lot of laughs, and zero solutions, we called it a night.
I fell asleep easily… and that’s when it happened.
In my dream, a woman in a flowing white dress was standing at my bedside. Calm. Composed. Slightly amused. In her hand? Our half-failed wedding card.
I explained—yes, even in the dream—that we were struggling with what to write. She smiled and said:
“Life is better with someone to share it with. Enjoy the adventure.”
Simple. Clear. And honestly… perfect.
Especially coming from where my husband and I stand. We met at 18 and 20, married at 21 and 23, and now at 48 and 50, we’re still choosing each other, still growing, still figuring it out as we go. That message didn’t just sound good—it felt earned.
I thanked her, because manners don’t stop just because you’re dreaming.
The next morning, I told my husband I had the perfect thing to write.
He looked at me, impressed. “How did you come up with that?”
“A beautiful woman in a white dress came to me in my dream and told me.”
Without hesitation, he said, “Well, if she’s still here—thank you, pretty lady.”
We wrote it in the card. Redemption complete.
The wedding itself was incredible—good food, great drinks, and a room full of strangers who somehow felt like family by the end of the night. Those are the moments you can’t force. They just happen.
And if there’s anything to take from this—whether you believe it came from a spirit, a dream, or just a very aligned subconscious—it’s this:
Find someone you can be fully yourself with. No performance, no pretending. Just real.
Because life really is better when you have someone to share it with.
And if you’re someone who feels everything a little deeper—the energy of places, the weight of spaces—you already know how important it is to clear what doesn’t belong to you. That’s why I created my candles through Hidden Medium Shoppe. They’re made for energy clearing and peaceful passage, without the smoke, without the chaos… just a simple way to reset your space, wherever you are.
If you’ve ever had an experience like this—or you’re just curious what else might be out there—stick around. There’s more to come.
And if something in this story stayed with you… you already know where to find me.
